This initiative serves the communities of Hedge End, West End and Botley in the Borough of Eastleigh, Hampshire and is supported by 10 churches, Hampshire Police and Eastleigh Borough Council.
We became operational in July 2010 and have 18 trained Street Pastors operating in 6 teams on Friday nights. 2 of the teams operate from 6pm to 10pm while the other 4 work from 8pm to midnight in this mainly rural area.
An annual training course is run jointly with the 3 other groups in the Borough. A new course starts in November 2011 and application forms are available from the Co-ordinator. So far the oldest Street Pastor we have trained is 78 and the youngest 18.
This July we host the 2nd South Central England Forum - Street Life - with groups coming from an area stretching from Weymouth to Bognor and from the Isle of Wight to Yeovil and Basingstoke.
