Eastbourne Street Pastors have recruited their second round of volunteers and now have 40 Street Pastor volunteers altogether. They work Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm to 4am in the town centre. There are about 16 Prayer Pastors who support the Street Pastors from the base at the Revival Prayer Centre.
The next training course for Eastbourne Street Pastors will start in September 2011, with recruitment starting in the Spring of 2011. Prayer Pastors are welcome to join the team anytime without the need for training, just a passion for their community.
There are about 20 local Churches represented by the Street Pastor and Prayer Pastor volunteers and the Management Committee. And there is a good working relationship with Sussex Police and the local Council, and with groups such as the Crime Reduction Partnership, Nightwatch and the Safer Communities team.
