Hounslow Street Pastors was officially launched on Thursday 2nd July 2009 at the Civic Centre for the London Borough of Hounslow. This was the result of several local churches getting together to put their support behind the initiative. The initiative has also received strong support from the local police and council who are keen to get behind an initiative that has proved itself in other areas.
At present trainees are being trained as Street Pastors and they will first take to the streets on the 31st December - New Years Eve. They will be working from Holy Trinity Church which is located in the centre of the high street. The volunteers come from several local churches and are very excited to be going out on streets of Hounslow to put their faith in action. A commissioning service is being arranged for the 31st December before the Street Pastors go out - further details to follow.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporting churches in both resources and finances. We have also received many offers of prayer support and have three prayer pastors who have volunteered to stay and pray in Holy Trinity whilst the street pastors are out on the streets.
