The Chelmsford town centre churches have been working together now for a year to launch the scheme in the town.
We have had great support and help from Ascension Trust and the groups in Southend, Havering and Ipswich Town Pastors.
We now have 26 volunteers in training locally and are planning our Commissioning service on 6th April at 6.30pm at the Trinity Methodist church. This will be followed by our Civic launch on April 9th at the Civic Centre at 7.30pm. If all goes according to plan we will be out on the streets the following weekend. Our town centre base will initially be in the Cathedral Learning Centre which is well placed near the busy pub and club areas of the town.
Currently we are busy sorting out our uniform sizes and finalising the overall training programme for May and July. Training will continue on Saturdays through March
The prayer support team is also planning to meet during March, to pray for the training and for the launch events. This team will be led by John Rees.
